About the Role

The Configuration Management Engineer will be responsible for managing and controlling the configuration of space systems hardware throughout their lifecycle. They will coordinate and manage all configuration management activities including planning identification control status accounting and audit.

Role Responsibilities

  • Data Integrity: Ensure the integrity of configuration data (requirements CAD models Part records Documents etc.) by maintaining accurate records and documentation of all configuration items.
  • Change Control: Implement and manage change control processes to ensure that all changes to configuration items are properly documented evaluated approved and implemented.
  • Status Accounting: Provide accurate accounting of configuration item status and configuration change documentation.
  • Audits: Conduct configuration management audits to verify compliance with the configuration management plan and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration: Interact with various teams including engineering supply chain manufacturing program management and missions to ensure proper implementation of the configuration management plan.
  • Tool Management: Work with IT to manage tools and systems used for configuration management ensuring they are uptodate and effective.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on configuration management activities including status updates change orders and audit findings and present them to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in configuration management.

Qualifications

  • Education:A bachelors degree in a technical field (engineering computer science information systems mathematics etc.).
  • Experience:3 years of practical experience with configuration management tools (PLM/PDM) and processes.
  • Technical Writing Skills:Proficient in documenting technical reports using MS Office suite
  • Selfmotivated Problem Solver
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Capella Employees must be a U.S. citizen lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce as applicable. Compensation

The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $93000 $123000. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education qualification knowledge skills ability and experience of the final candidate(s) specific office location and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.
