Job Description
This is to fill an 8month term position working 75 hours biweekly (temporary assignments will be equally considered).

About the branch:
The Property Assessment and Taxation Branch provides all Yukon taxing authorities with property assessments and levies taxes in accordance with the general property tax rates as established by Yukon Government property taxation authority for all areas outside municipalities. The branch administers several funding programs for rural and municipal property owners including the Domestic Water Well Program and the Rural Electrification and Telecommunications Program and the Better Buildings program.

What you need to consider:

Essential Qualifications:
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet each of the following qualifications. Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Coursework in Property Assessment/Appraisal or undergraduate degree in Statistics Public Administration Commerce Business Administration Economics Urban Geography Land Planning or other related field would be preferred
- Experience interpreting legislation and regulations
- Experience analyzing problems identifying solutions and independently making decisions
- Experience responding to public inquiries and complaints
- Experience working with real estate and/or building construction would be an asset
Candidates who have education training and/or experience equivalent to the above qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

- Experience working with building plans or blueprints
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Selfmotivation and the ability to work independently
- Strong ability to organize and manage time to meet critical deadlines
Additional Information:
Conditions of Employment: Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
Job Requirements: Willing to travel throughout the territory conducting onsite inspections.
