Job Description
Barbier Security Group (BSG)is a rapidly growing Bay Area based security services company. Founded in 2007 Barbier Security Group has been tasked with providing custom protective security programs for individuals government organizations and private companies.
TheOperations Dispatcher / Scheduler plays a key administrative role within the Operations Department at Barbier Security Group. This position is responsible for dispatching security personnel managing schedules and ensuring that all posts are staffed in accordance with client needs and company standards. The role is primarily deskbased but includes occasional field duties such as site visits and emergency response using a company vehicle.
- Shift: Morning and Swing (Weekends required)
- Salary:$26.00 $30.00 per hour(DOE)

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and dispatch field security officers to client sites based on operational needs.
- Build maintain and adjust daily and weekly officer schedules.
- Proactively monitor coverage and fill open positions due to calloffs absences or lastminute client requests.
- Serve as a key communication point between field officers clients and company leadership.
- Provide logistical support to ensure smooth operations and rapid problem resolution.
- Assist with field operations as needed including conducting site visits and covering shifts during emergencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of scheduling coverage changes and officer availability.
- Ensure compliance with licensing training and policy requirements in coordination with HR and compliance teams.
- Perform additional administrative support functions for the Operations Department as directed.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a security emergency response or servicebased industry.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with guard scheduling software or workforce management tools.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 12 years of experience in dispatching scheduling or logistics (security industry preferred).
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Calm and effective under pressure with strong problemsolving abilities.
- Technologically proficient; comfortable using scheduling platforms spreadsheets and communication tools.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Flexibility to assist in field operations or work after hours when needed.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- A valid Drivers License and a clean driving record are required for applicable sites.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.
- Proficient in basic computer and smartphone usage.
- Must be able to speak read and write in English to create accurate reports; additional language skills are a plus.
- Strong listening skills patience and compassion particularly when interacting with community members experiencing emotional or psychological challenges.
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations think critically deescalate conflicts and communicate effectively.
- Maintain a positive professional demeanor in adherence to all laws regulations company policies and confidentiality standards.
- Ensure compliance with both company and client policies and procedures while being open to performance improvement.
- Possess a clear understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols.
- At least one year of experience in security mobile patrol or event staff roles.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires specific physical abilities to ensure the Security Guard can effectively perform essential job duties. The candidate must be able to:
- Stand or Walk for Extended Periods: Ability to stand and walk for long shifts often for several hours at a time including traversing outdoor areas with uneven surfaces without significant physical strain.
- Climb Stairs: Regularly climb stairs and navigate multilevel buildings to perform patrols and check all areas.
- Lift and Carry: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to move or secure equipment and assist with other duties as necessary.
- Physical Endurance: Ability to withstand various weather conditions during outdoor patrols including hot cold rainy or windy weather.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle and operate security equipment such as radios keys and locks.
- Run or Move Quickly: Ability to sprint short distances if needed to respond quickly to emergencies or incidents.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of working long hours while remaining alert and focused throughout the shift. Deescalate stressful situations with professionalism and patience.
- Kneeling and Bending: Ability to kneel crouch and bend to check lowlevel areas secure entrances or assist in emergencies.
- Vision and Hearing: Strong vision and hearing to observe surroundings monitor security systems and detect alarms or sounds of distress.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Patrol and Surveillance:
- Perform regular patrols of assigned areas including multilevel buildings and outdoor spaces while standing or walking for extended periods
- Climb stairs frequently to inspect all areas thoroughly.
Incident Response:
- Respond swiftly to emergencies or incidents including sprinting short distances if necessary.
- Use manual dexterity to operate security equipment such as radios keys and locks efficiently.
Equipment Handling:
- Lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds to assist with security tasks or emergencies.
- Secure heavy items or assist with moving necessary supplies as part of the role.
Situational Awareness:
- Utilize strong vision and hearing abilities to monitor surroundings identify potential security threats and detect alarms or sounds of distress.
Conflict Resolution:
- Deescalate stressful or potentially volatile situations with professionalism patience and effective communication skills.
Prolonged Alertness:
- Maintain focus and remain alert throughout long shifts ensuring the safety and security of the premises.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Assist in evacuations or other emergency responses utilizing physical stamina and agility to support individuals in need.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Keep accurate and detailed activity logs documenting all patrols incidents and observations during the shift.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for any incidents ensuring records are clear and precise for review.
Professionalism:
- Uphold a professional and positive demeanor at all times representing the company and its clients with integrity and respect.
- Adhere to legal standards company policies and clientspecific protocols.
- Maintain grooming and uniform standards consistently to project a polished and authoritative presence.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills when interacting with the public clients and team members ensuring respectful and courteous communication.
