Job Description

Job Title: Project Engineer

Department: Operations

Reports To: Project Manager

FLSA: NONEXEMPT

Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide exceptional firstclass customer service.
    • Assist with the execution and management of project needs.
    • Prepare and present computergenerated spreadsheets and reports.
    • Maintain regular communication and collaboration with entire project team including Project Foreman Project Manager General Contractor Architect/Engineer and other subcontractors.
    • Generate maintain and facilitate project documentation in the execution of the construction processes for all phases of the project. This will include but is not limited to requests for information submittals drawings specifications purchase orders material orders change orders closeout documents etc.
    • Perform material take offs from drawings to help generate estimates and changes.
    • Demonstrate attention to detail efficiency and integrity in all aspects of the work.
    • Maintain flexibility with assigned work environment and assigned project locations. May be required to commute to various jobsite locations.
    • Attend and conduct meetings as required.
    • Comply with all company operating policies procedures and safety programs as established.
    • Other duties may be assigned as specific projects dictate.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting the Project Superintendent and Project Manager with day to day field operations such as material expediting time keeping RFIs submittals design team coordination walking down the installed scope of work to confirm quantitys installed that will feed into the schedule and other reporting functions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelors degree in engineering Construction Management or related field; OR 2 years prior experience in related field via internships coops and/or industry employment
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  3. Ability to multitask stay organized and manage time effectively in a fastpaced environment.
  4. Flexibility and adaptability in utilizing a wide range of computer software.
  5. Engineerintraining certification Journeyman license and field experience preferred but not required.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
