The Joint Office of the Secretary of Defense Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense Federal Civilian and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multidisciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)) DARPA the Joint Staff and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure resilient and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military technical and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems identifying the driving factors devising innovative approaches collecting applicable data developing necessary software tools and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have an upcoming need for a Nuclear Acquisition Analyst to provide onsite support in Arlington VA.

Responsibilities

SPA is seeking an experienced Nuclear Acquisition Analyst to support OSD oversight of the Nuclear Triad sustainment and modernization with a primary focus on nuclear modernization programs in any legs of the nuclear Triad. Will provide support to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategic Space and Intelligence Portfolio Management (DASD(SSIPM)) in the Strategic Deterrence and Capabilities (SDC) Directorate. Will also support DASD (SSIPM)s participation in the Nuclear Weapons Council and other DoD nuclearrelated forums and will develop decisionready material for senior leaders and apply the initiative to navigate headquarters and acquisition processes to support the DASD portfolio management responsibilities. The Nuclear Acquisition Analyst will support portfolio management and oversight of systems through development production and fielding to the warfighter.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10 years of expereience
  • 5 years of experience with the Defense Acquisition System
  • 5 years of experience with nuclear weapons and weapon systems at the operational and programmatic level
  • Understanding of DoDI 5000.02 and the DoD acquisition process
  • Masters Degree
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Willingness for occasional travel (may be required (less than 10%))
  • DAWIA or DAU PM certification
  • Able to work fully onsite based on client needs

Desired:

  • Experience as a DoD Program Manager/Deputy Program Manager
  • Project Management Professional Certification or DAWIA PM III
  • Experience supporting the Sentinel LRSO or ALCM programs
  • Special Access Program eligibility
