This 11month EHRA EPS (Exempt Professional Staff) position is a fulltime livein position reporting to the Director of Residential Education Housing and Dining Services. Residential Education Instructors are provided with an unfurnished apartment. In addition utilities (electric water and local phone) internet access and access to fitness facilities are complimentary along with one meal a day in the school cafeteria.

Description of Duties:
Teaching and Curriculum DevelopmentJunior Residential Education Classes:
Cornerstone Course: Facilitate student transitions to NCSSM covering professional communication healthy relationships culture and selfcare.
College and Career Planning: Coteach with the Counseling Department focusing on preparing students for postsecondary education and careers.
Elective Courses:
Financial Planning Leadership Public Speaking and Exploring Multicultural America: Teach these elective courses aiming to provide students with essential life skills and a broad understanding of multicultural perspectives.
Curriculum Responsibilities:
Develop evaluate and revise curricula based on research staff consultation and assessments.
Utilize evaluations and data to recommend improvements and edits to curricula annually.
Employ diverse teaching and assessment methods incorporating technology.
Assess student work with clear relevant criteria.
Maintain and submit accurate reports and grades by published deadlines.
Communicate with other instructors to share ideas and resources.
Ensure availability to students outside of classroom hours for additional support.
Continually evaluate class sessions for improvement opportunities.
Communication:
Engage in verbal and written communication with students parents and the student support team.
Student Support and Community Building:
Manage and supervise a residence hall community.
Foster a supportive and cohesive community within the residence hall.
Handle emergency responses incident management and student discipline.
Promote wellness programming and community events.
Emergency Response:
Act as a frontline responder for student and residence hall emergencies.
Serve in loco parentis for students working closely with counselors academic advisors and parents/guardians.
Be the primary point of contact for students families and collaborate with faculty and staff to support students.
Complete room conditioning reports for all residence halls.
Assist in coordinating the roommate selection process for juniors and seniors.
Help with housingrelated tasks during the opening and closing of residences.
Support the Director with contracts for services like food laundry and vending.
Community Engagement and Projects:
Present at Family Day Discovery Days and Welcome Days.
Conduct room tours during Welcome Day.
Participate in institutional committee assignments and campus life activities.
Lead campus programs and training sessions on student success topics.
Pursue professional development through coursework conferences and workshops.
Assist with special projects as directed by the Residential Education and Housing Directors.
Preference will be given to candidates with a masters degree and previous live on experience; teaching or training experience; knowledge/experience working with high school aged students. Previous experience in residence life education counseling.Experience in the use of educational technology.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work with technology and other resources to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of practices and procedures.
Candidates must possess a valid drivers license with no serious drivingrelated convictions.

Vacation and Personal Leave:EHRA Exempt Professional Staff (EPS) receive 26 days per year. Leave is prorated for parttime and less than 12 month employees. Leave is earned monthly.
Sick Leave:12 days per year. Leave accruals for parttime and less than 12 month employees are prorated.

Health Insurance:Employee only coverage under theState Health Plan(PPO) is provided to employees that work 30 or more hours a week. The cost is determined by the type of coverage elected by the employee. Dependent coverage is available by payroll deduction.
Retirement:Required participation for all employees working 3/4 time or more. Option (1) Teachers and State Employees Retirement System(TSERS)requires 6% of gross salary. Employees are vested for retirement after 5 years. Option (2) The Optional Retirement Program(ORP)requires 6% of gross salary. Employees in ORP are vested after 5 years of participating in ORP. As a participant in either retirement program you are automatically covered for shortterm disability (eligible after 1 year of service/no cost) long term disability (eligible after 5 year of service/no cost). Death benefit of minimum $25000/maximum $50000 based on previous 12 month salary (eligible after 1 year of service/no cost).
Supplemental Retirement Plans:Supplemental retirement plansprovide an additional opportunity to help you reach your retirement goals. Supplemental Plan offerings such as a 401(k) 403(b) or 457(b) on a Roth (aftertax) or pretax contributions.

Community Service:24 hours leave credited each calendar year (prorated for parttime) unless you choose the Mentoring/ tutoring option 1 hour each week up to a max of 36 hours that schools are in session as documented by the elected board of the local education agency or the governing authority of any nonpublic school.
