Job Description
The Luke Lee Listening Language and Learning Lab (L) currently provides listening and spoken language intervention for deaf and hard of hearing children and their families through preschool services and early intervention services. The L is operated on a 10month schedule while Marshall University is in operation. The L serves deaf and hard of hearing children from infant through early school age whose families have chosen for them to learn to listen and speak. The L is a Birth to Three provider through the Marshall Speech and Hearing Center. The L provides services through the Marshall Speech and Hearing Center which also consists of several specialty programs which include Scottish Rite Childhood Speech and Language Program Oshel Parent Education Program and a Stuttering Clinic Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Clinic and other adult focused programs. Responsibilities: Lead preschool teacher in L preschool program Create preschool lesson plans Assess preschool students using Creative Curriculum Provide listening and spoken language intervention to deaf and hard of hearing children in WV Birth to Three Program Participate in mentorship for listening and spoken language certification Plan yearly L picnic for families of the L and assist in other fundraising endeavors Work with local county school systems during the transition of students into mainstream programs
