Manages the daily operations of Materials Management department.
Job Responsibilities
Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing functions warehousing inventory control receiving and supply distribution of materials forms mail supplies and equipment for hospital use.
Manages the flow of supplies products and services from source to point of use.
Oversees the interviewing and negotiating with sales representatives.
Manages the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) bids and quotations.
Manages the review and analysis of Group Purchasing contracts and ensures compliance financial accounting and product standardization.
Assists with developing specific departmental goals standards and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Manages staff relations including performance management staff satisfaction and conflict management.
Performs and manages scheduling recruitment and payroll.
Monitors department budgets regulatory compliance department contracts and vendor relations.
Supports special projects and business analysis as requested.
Collaborates with other departments to evaluate service levels and to identify potential process improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree or higher in Business Administration required upon hire OR
Bachelors degree or higher in related field required upon hire
A combination of education training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
A minimum of 4 years relevant experience required
No licensure/certification/registration required
