As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team you will have the opportunity to plan design install configure and support a highly resilient and stable Mainframe network infrastructure. You will be able to utilize your experience with softwarepromoten systems management using various scripting languages such as JCL REXX Unix Shell scripting and zOSMF Workflows. You will also have the chance to showcase your aptitude and passion for developing software systems to solve complex problems through automation tools. If you are familiar with RESTful APIs using Swagger or a similar framework passionate about technology and open to new ideas and ways to manage Mainframe infrastructure software this role is for you.
Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully met
- Drives results collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production and sees assignments through to completion
- Carries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parameters
- Escalates issues to appropriate leaders
- Develops considerations for upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Provide logical connectivity between applications and mainframe subsystems
- Hands on experience on Performance tuning & Development of operational procedures
- Support TCP/IP encryption methods (IPSEC ATTLS and TLS) and monitoring of protocols and cyphers aligned to company policies
- Hands on experience on Mainframe Network Product installations customizations and evaluations.
- Adds to team culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 2 years applied experience
- Proficient knowledge of hardware networking terminology databases storage engineering deployment practices integration automation scaling resilience and performance assessments
- Strong understanding of VTAM TCPIP IP Security SNA OSA FTP SSH SNMP SMTP JCL SDSF VSAMSMP/E Unix System Services Parallel Sysplex IBM system utilities Network Tools NDM TPX NetView NetMaster etc.
- Definition Maintenance and Modification of existing z/Series Network Products
- Manage & Support Transmission Products FTPs (SSL) sFTP (SSH) & Connect:Direct Secure (NDM)
- Manage & Support Session Manager applications TPX Supersession
- Develop Mainframe Network Toolkits with the help of NetMaster NetView Rexx & CLISTS
- Maintain Mainframe Network Components: TCP/IP including DVIPA & DDVIPA configurations IPSEC IPFILTER Intrusion Detection Services (IDS) Enterprise Extender (EE) SNA VTAM APPN OSA connectivity interface to the Core
- Support TCP/IP encryption methods (IPSEC ATTLS and TLS) and monitoring of protocols and cyphers aligned to company policies
- Demonstrates knowledge on Network Monitoring tools (Omegamon Mainview Mainframe Tracing Sniffers)
- z/OS system programming
