Position at JBS USA
Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Omaha
Reporting to: General Manager
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of all aspects of the Facility.
- Oversees efficiency through monitoring production scanning makesheets and discussing daily goals with Superintendents.
- Directs Superintendents with respect to production volume quality cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
- Handles any employee grievance dispute or problem in most efficient manner possible working closely with Human Resources department as necessary.
- Maintains acceptable yield levels on all products while producing product to specification.
- Perform daily safety walks and correct any noncompliance issues.
- Help develop the management team of the Facility through active participation in group meetings.
- Trains and develops Superintendents providing guidance on managerial and teamwork skills to attain department objectives.
- Works closely with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure all product quality and food safety standards are enforced.
- Ensure all policies and the collective bargaining agreement is understood and enforced.
- Must maintain a positive working relationship with government agencies and help address any USDA regulatory issues.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures.
- Communicate to all levels within the organization on information as needed.
- All other duties as directed by General Manager
Experience Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with preferred college degree preferred but not required.
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience working in meat industry.
Skills/Abilities Required:
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills problem solving skills and leadership qualities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships and work collaboratively with other.
- Extensive knowledge of meat products equipment and specifications.
- Must be able to work in a very cold damp and noisy environment with possible slick floors and frequent exposure to knives hot water and production machinery.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including some Saturday work.
- Bilingual skills a plus but not required.
