Purpose of Role
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of supporting and developing cloud services and infrastructure in a Microsoft Azure cloud environment. They will play a key technical role in a number of exciting projects including the Digital Student Experience Programme moving the Student Records system into Azure Data & Insights the procurement of a new virtual server infrastructure and the further development of our Certificate infrastructure which is becoming increasingly important as we roll out a new network utilising the HP Aruba and ClearPass technologies. Migration and rearchitecture of on premises infrastructure to an Azure cloud environment will also be a requirement of the role.

The Global Information Services (GIS) directorate provides a range of services to support promote and supply information information skills and infrastructure to support a modern researchintensive university in a global setting. This straddles academic library provision alongside a range of technical services and systems such as IT and AV services systems and support for learning & teaching research & enterprise operational effectiveness. It is an integrated global service providing services to students staff applicants alumni external users across all five campuses.
