The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Contractor DevOps / Platform Engineer to help us at one of our key clients. You will work closely with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to help deliver a scalable secure and automated data science experimentation and model training platform.
Your focus will be on supporting and building the infrastructure and automation required to support AWS SageMaker training pipelines and a flexible experimentation environment that accelerates data science workflows.

Key Responsibilities
Design build and support automated AWS SageMaker training pipelines
Enable a collaborative Data Science Experimentation Platform using AWS services and Jupyterbased tools
Build and maintain infrastructureascode using Terraform
Integrate infrastructure workflows into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions or Jenkins)
Collaborate with Data Scientists to understand and support experimentation needs
Define scalable patterns for managing Jupyter Notebooks container images and model artifacts
Implement IAM and security best practices for SageMaker Studio environments
Set up monitoring observability and audit tooling where needed
Mentor or pair with data team members where platform expertise is needed
Core Skills & Experience
AWS (SageMaker Studio IAM ECR EventBridge)
Terraform for infrastructure as code
Jupyter Notebooks usage and management
GitHub for version control and collaboration
Jenkins (used for running Terraform applies/deployments)
Experience in DataOps / MLOps environments
Experienced in strong collaboration and communication skills with data scientists/engineers
Were looking for someone who:

Is comfortable working autonomously without constant direction or handholding
Has a problemsolving mindset able to troubleshoot and unblock themselves or others
Communicates clearly but doesnt overcomplicate
Can prioritise and execute pragmatically
Works well in fastmoving or ambiguous environments
Is teamaware but able to just get on with it when needed
