Description
Mechanical Service Specialist Position Responsibilities
- Diagnoses HVAC system performance through observation testing and setup as required by trade/position and type/size of equipment to include split systems mini split systems multizone VRF RTUS WSHP selfcontained systems CRAC units scroll/reciprocating air cooled chillers airside AHUs and EFs.
- Performs disassembly and reassembly of large or small commercial or residential HVAC equipment to perform troubleshooting and planned maintenance as indicated in the service agreement.
- Preform physical activities including lifting carrying climbing ladders and climbing stairs.
- Maintains equipment tools and inventory stock on service vehicle.
- Proficiently operates hand tools power tools gauges and measuring equipment.
- Create customer invoices and provide reports on equipment to the service manager including documentation of make model serial number and photos.
- Completes service contracts quoted projects and demand service calls while maintaining profitability.
- Schedule service contract work.
- Develops longterm relationships with customers and explains work performed to the customers satisfaction.
- Participates in technician oncallstandby rotation as dictated by business unit policies and procedures.
- Must be organized and maintain a tidy neat appearance.
- Provide detailed service reports for the customer and the organization in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to improve overall operations of the Service Department and promote better and stronger relationships with our customers.
- Work with other departments within DAC to complete work as needed.
- Work in collaboration with Account Managers to promote the sale of addon work.
- Work with and/or manage subcontract work as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Frequent use of Microsoft tools such as Outlook Excel Word Power Point Teams etc.
Requirements
Mechanical Service Specialist Qualifications
- High School Diploma Required.
- EPA Universal
- Texas Registered Technician
- Must have a current Texas drivers license and be able to work in the United States
- At least 2 years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience
- Experience in the construction environment preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work under pressure and manage completing priorities
