About the Organization:
Dragonfly Kids is a notforprofit organization that aims to enhance mutual understanding and
strengthen global ties through cultural exchange programming. The organization intends to
collaborate with individuals from around the world to participate in the J1 Camp Counselor
program in the United States. The program will align recruiting with U.S. foreign policy priorities
and will build relationships with general summer camps as well as specialized camps in fields
such as STEM and special education.
Dragonfly Kids is a sister company to Dragonfly Therapy Services. Dragonfly Therapy Services
aims to holistically support children their caregivers and communities to help them thrive.
Dragonfly Therapy Services provides Applied Behavior Analysis and SpeechLanguage
Pathology to children with autism primarily in New York working in close partnership with
schools and families.
About the Role
Dragonfly Kids is seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President to lead the J1 Camp
Counselor program upon designation. This individual is responsible for overseeing all aspects of
the program including compliance with the U.S. Department of State recruitment of
international participants partnerships with camps financial oversight and leadership of the
internal team. The VP will play a critical role in shaping the programs future growth ensuring
operational excellence and maintaining the highest standards of cultural exchange.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Develop and execute a longterm strategic vision for the J1 Camp Counselor Program.
Lead the organization to meet and exceed program goals ensuring sustainable growth
and financial health.
Serve as the primary liaison with the Board of Directors providing regular updates and
insights into program operations finances and compliance.
Compliance & Program Administration
Ensure full compliance with U.S. Department of State regulations for the J1 Camp
Counselor Program.
Serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) overseeing SEVIS operations and
maintaining program integrity.
Implement and maintain policies and procedures that align with federal guidelines audit
requirements and industry best practices.
Recruitment & Camp Partnerships
Oversee global recruitment strategies to attract qualified international candidates for the
program in line with U.S. foreign policy priorities.
Foster and expand relationships with summer camps across the U.S. ensuring strong
partnerships and alignment with program goals.
Develop innovative marketing and outreach initiatives to enhance brand recognition and
program participation.
Team & Organizational Management
Build manage and mentor a highperforming team including internal staff and external
recruitment partners.
Oversee hiring training and performance management to ensure operational efficiency
and strong program execution.
Cultivate a positive organizational culture that reflects the values of cultural exchange
and leadership development.
Financial & Operational Oversight
Manage the programs P&L ensuring financial sustainability and responsible budget
allocation.
Identify revenue growth opportunities and costsaving strategies without compromising
program quality.
Ensure operational excellence by leveraging technology process improvements and
datadriven decisionmaking.
Qualifications & Experience
Required: Prior experience as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) under a U.S.
Department of State J1 visa program.
Preferred: Direct experience working with the J1 Camp Counselor Program.
Minimum of 710 years of leadership experience in cultural exchange international
recruitment nonprofit management or a related field.
Deep understanding of U.S. Department of State compliance for J1 visa programs
including SEVIS management.
Proven track record in business development financial management and operational
leadership.
Strong relationshipbuilding skills with international partners U.S. camps and
government agencies.
Exceptional leadership communication and strategic thinking abilities.
