Job Description
*Active RN on Minnesota Board of Nursing required
*Current BLS required
Education:
*Bachelors degree in nursing required
Experience:
*3 years of people leadership experience or advanced degree in nursing leadership in lieu of experience.
*Informal leadership experience is preferred (charge RN clinical educator preceptor etc.).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Fundamental understanding of the business side of assigned department/unit (P&L finance budget etc.).
*Availability for oncall and offhours rotations/situations as decided by department/unit.
*Desired characteristics: strategic thinker collaborative seeks to understand embraces continuous improvement navigates through change calm demeanor positive attitude.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or oncall work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.

Department Overview
Our St. Paul Sedation and Procedural Services (SPS) department makes a difference every day by caring for children in a variety of ways. In our 15 bed unit we care for observation patients from our Level IV trauma center emergency department and operating room. The average length of stay for these patients is < 24 hours.
We also specialize in the Comfort Promise ensuring that pain is minimized whenever possible by providing sedation services ranging from nitrous oxide minimal sedation to deep sedation and vascular access to insert peripheral intravenous lines (PIVs) and peripherallyinserted central catheters (PICCs). We also support many outpatient services such as infusions and other minimally invasive procedures and diagnostic tests requiring sedation. We value teamwork open communication safety and respect. Position Summary
The patient care manager (PCM) has overall responsibility for ensuring that services and programs provided through their assigned department/unit is child and family focused clinically appropriate operationally efficient and achieves effective patient outcomes. The PCM will directly manage RN staff and assist in leadership of clinical support staff.
