Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Manager at Gasser Chair is responsible for leading and managing quality assurance functions within the organization. This position is critical in ensuring that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with regulatory and industry standards. The Quality Assurance Manager will develop implement and maintain quality control systems conduct root cause analysis for defects and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Management System (QMS): Develop implement and maintain an effective Quality Management System that complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements including ISO 9001 compliance.
  2. Product & Process Quality Assurance: Oversee inspection testing and validation of materials equipment and products to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
  3. Process Improvement & Corrective Actions: Identify analyze and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency reduce waste and improve overall product quality through corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  4. Supplier & Material Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure incoming materials meet specifications addressing and resolving supplier quality issues.
  5. Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough investigations of defects nonconformities and customer complaints developing corrective actions solutions and improvements.
  6. Regulatory & Compliance Audits: Ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards through internal and external audits identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  7. CrossFunctional Collaboration & Operational Controls: Work closely with operations managers and crossfunctional teams to develop and implement quality controls ensuring consistency and compliance in manufacturing.
  8. DataDriven Quality Monitoring: Utilize statistical analysis tools to monitor production performance identify trends and drive datadriven quality improvements.
  9. New Product Development Support: Establish quality parameters testing methodologies and validation protocols to ensure product reliability and compliance from development to production.
  10. Training & Development: Train and mentor production team members engineers and quality personnel on quality control best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  11. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate quality documentation including test reports compliance records and control charts for regulatory and internal reporting purposes.
  12. Customer Satisfaction & Issue Resolution: Address customer quality concerns investigate complaints and implement corrective actions to enhance customer satisfaction and product reliability.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree in Quality Industrial or Mechanical Engineering; Masters degree preferred.
  2. Proven experience in quality engineering quality assurance or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of quality methodologies such as Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  4. Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
  5. Proficiency in quality inspection techniques measurement tools and statistical analysis software.
  6. Strong problemsolving analytical and project management skills.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and mentor team members.
  8. Ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  9. ASQ certification and ISO9000 literacy would be a plus but not required.
  10. Knowledge of industry standards such as ANSI ASTM or other relevant quality standards.

Physical Requirements:

The Quality Assurance Manager at Gasser Chair is expected to perform job duties in both an office and manufacturing environment. The role requires the ability to move throughout the production facility including standing walking and climbing for extended periods. The position involves occasional lifting of materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Regular use of a computer quality inspection tools and documentation systems is required. Some travel may be necessary to visit suppliers customers or attend industry events.
