Job Description
What you get to do in this role:
- The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be responsible for managing and resolving the most challenging issues for the ServiceNow SRE team focusing on instance performance reliability and availability.
- The successful candidate will be able to quickly gain an understanding of the ServiceNow platform. This is a technical role and requires strong trouble shooting skills as well as strong technical skill.
- This is a nightshift role based anywhere within the republic of Ireland
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you have:
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes decisionmaking or problemsolving. This may include using AIpowered tools automating workflows analyzing AIdriven insights or exploring AIs potential impact on the function or industry.
- Degree in computer science / engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of IT operations experience.
- Basic Knowledge of ITIL driven IT Operations Incident Problem & Change Management.
- Experience working well in a team environment while also being able to work productively while unsupervised
- Strong personal commitment to quality and customer service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate solutions to technical problems
- Excellent time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot difficult technical issues
- Experience working on Unix/Linux environment
- Basic understanding of Networking skills IP addressing and routing.
- Ability to work 4 days (10hours nightshift mostly Wed Sat)
The following additional skills are preferred but not required:
- Experience TCP/IP Networking knowledge
- Experience with Splunk
- Familiarity with Configuration Management tools like Ansible and Puppet
- Working knowledge of the components in a web applications stack.
- Experience diagnosing performance degradation (e.g. explain plans database tuning)
- Understanding of relational databases (e.g. MySQL Oracle Postgres)
- Familiarity with one (or more) scripting languages: JavaScript Python Perl Unix Shell Windows Shell)
- Familiarity with monitoring of large and scalable systems applications and networks.
