Job Duties:
Assist in Scheduling & Conducting Inspections
Learn how to schedule and perform annual and requested inspections to support public safety and ensure adherence to state elevator safety codes.
OnSite Equipment Inspections
Train in identifying issues related to:
Electrical and mechanical system operation
Brake functionality
Hoistway structure and interlocks
Door pressure and closing systems
Cable wear and maintenance standards
Plan & Blueprint Review
Learn how to review technical documents plans and procedures related to the installation repair or replacement of vertical transportation systems.
Accident Investigation Support
Assist in gathering information and participating in investigations involving elevator or escalator incidents.
Other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction industrial engineering HVAC welding or other building trade. Experience in building maintenance a mechanical trade or performing safety inspections investigations or training may be substituted for education on a yearforyear basis as determined appropriate by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate or bachelors degree in engineering construction or relating to construction maintenance repair inspection or testing of equipment.
Other: Regular and reliable attendance is required. A valid drivers license is required as there is approximately 30% travel within this position.
