Enterprise Risk Coordinator

• Risk Assessment Mitigation and Insurance: Coordinates and implements activities and services to support successful risk management and mitigation. Collaborates with the Legal Division to assist in the administration and oversight of the Districts insurance coverage. Recommends appropriate levels of insurance coverage based on risk Districtwide and assists with completing insurance renewals.
• Environmental Health and Safety Program Development: Assists with developing and maintaining comprehensive policy and procedures for environmental and occupational health and safety programs including but not limited to safety orientations job hazard assessments accident reporting hazard communications chemical hygiene blood borne pathogens exposure control lockout/tagout and biowaste management.
• Compliance Management: Serves as the clearinghouse and technical expert on applicable federal state and local environmental occupational health safety and risk management rules and regulations. This includes but is not limited to OSHA EPA DOT NFPA and DNR rules and regulations.
• Inspection and Audits: Performs routine inspections of classrooms labs shops mechanical and storage rooms to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Coordinates audits with external inspectors. Develops and implements corrective measures and best practices.
• Incident Investigation Report Creation and Updates: Surveys environmental operational and occupational conditions. Investigates noncompliance accidents and/or injuries to include photos and reports. Develops and implements corrective action plans. Prepares detailed and accurate annual reports and tracking methods to ensure corrective action is taken District wide. Provides information to internal staff and external insurance partners on a timely basis regarding accident/incident reports liability claims property/vehicle damage claims and reports of theft District wide
• Record Retention: Manages maintenance of records and claims for risk management and environmental health and safety district wide. Develops and maintains comprehensive electronic files and records for litigation management insurance reporting and underwriting documentation and systems.
• Policy Development and Review: Assists in drafting college policies administrative procedures and standard operating procedures. Assists in the coordination of cyclical reviews of college policies and administrative procedures.
• Committee Involvement: Participates on internal and external safety committees as needed.
• Ethics and Confidentiality: Practices honesty by demonstrating a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles values truthfulness and accuracy in all actions. Addresses all student and employee behavior in a confidential and respectful manner.
• Cross Functional Relationships and Collaborative Teamwork: Establishes maintains and enhances positive working relationships with staff faculty and administrators.
• Continuous Learning & Professional Development: Maintains current knowledge of best practices and standards in higher education with an emphasis on community colleges. Actively participates in applicable workgroups trainings workshops seminars committees and professional associations or conferences to promote continuous learning.
• Other duties: Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.

Compliance with all state federal and accreditation standards/requirement as well as all MATC policies and procedures.

Required Education & Experience:Bachelors degree in environmental or occupational health and safety or a related field with major course work in insurance risk management or industrial/environmental engineering and three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience.

Preferred Education & Experience:Masters degree and two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience.

Required Licensure/Certification: CPR/First Aid Certification

Preferred Licensure/Certification: Certified Risk Management or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist(CIH)

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to strategize and implement a proactive safety culture so as to minimize potential injury illness and losses (District liabilities).
• Knowledge of federal state and local laws ordinances and regulations governing all areas of responsibility as they pertain to technical/community colleges.
• Knowledge of types of risk coverage available including but not limited to real property casualty life health workers compensation vehicular and all related insurable risks.
• Knowledge of current insurance industry developments and legislation which may affect risk coverage.
• Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration Infection Control Quality Assurance Performance Improvement.
• Ability to problem solve and analyze effectively including use of data analytics such as applying data to organizational applications.
• Ability to overcome obstacles by engaging outside resources or utilizing executive direction.
• Ability to complete projects in a higher education setting.
• Ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means across all levels of employees including public speaking and presentation skills.
• Ability to establish collaborate and maintain effective work relationships with peers students teachers staff representatives of outside agencies educational institutions and the general public.
• Ability to convey an image of professionalism and dedication in work related activities.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse student and employee populations.
• Proficiency in the use of computers and software specific to position including spreadsheets and the internet.
• Ability to work successfully independently with minimal supervision and serve as a leader to others.
• Ability to establish workflows manage multiple projects across divisions and meet necessary deadlines.

This fulltime position requires 40 hours per week scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00am 4:30pm
