Job Description

The Director of Rooms is responsible for the performance of the Rooms Division including Front Desk Guest Services Housekeeping Laundry and the Spa. This is an executive level position reporting to the General Manager. The successful candidate demonstrates their ability to produce balanced financial guest experience and associate satisfaction outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as the strategic business leader of the propertys Rooms Operations; areas of responsibility include Front Office Housekeeping Laundry the Spa and Guest Services.
  • Ensures all lobby and common areas are maintained and provide a luxury experience for all guests.
  • Analyzes service issues and identifies trends.
  • Showing yearoveryear improvement in associate satisfaction scores throughout the division including maintaining low turnover and high promotionfromwithin ratings
  • Controlling payroll and direct expenses in line with the budget and varying levels of business using corporatewide technology and other systems
  • Participation in weekly forecasting and scheduling activities
  • Provides assistance to Director of Finance during annual budget process for the Rooms Division.
  • Preparation of action plans as directed by management
  • Daily reviews of operating outcomes (including corrective action if required)
  • Stays visible and connects with guests on a regular basis to obtain feedback on product quality service levels and overall satisfaction.
  • Works with direct reports (e.g. department heads) to develop and implement departmental strategies to ensure delivery of budget service and retention goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalency preferred
  • Must have previous experience in the Rooms Division in a hotel/resort property of similar size and quality for a period of five or more years
  • Experience in forecasting and scheduling daily reviews and analysis of operating results preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of a computer is necessary (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent verbal and written professional communication skills required
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to nurture managersintraining
  • Must be detailoriented and organized
  • Must be able to work closely and communicate with all associates departments guests and clients in a professional manner
  • Must be highly serviceoriented
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
