We are seeking a highly motivated ModelBased Design (MBD) Lead to lead our MBD initiatives across product design and development at the Power and Controls (P&C) business unit level. In this role you will be responsible for guiding and leading the implementation of modelbased design principles processes and tools across various product lines. You will ensure that the engineering manufacturing and quality teams leverage 3D models product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and digital design tools to create highly efficient accurate and highquality designs while reducing dependency on traditional 2D documentation.

What You Will Do

  • Implement P&Cs MBD strategy to guide and apply modelbased design practices throughout the organization while offering recommendations for future improvements.

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (design engineering manufacturing and quality) to promote MBD adoption and ensure smooth integration across product development stages.

  • Stay current with the latest developments in MBD tools CAD software (e.g. CATIA Siemens NX Creo) and PLM systems (e.g. Teamcenter RAC and AWC) and drive the selection and implementation of the most efficient solutions ensuring the company leverages cuttingedge technologies to stay competitive

  • Oversee the development and integration of 3D models PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) and digital twins into the product design process.

  • Optimize the use of 3D CAD models PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) product data management (PDM) and PLM systems to enable better product definition and reduce reliance on traditional 2D drawings.

  • Help maintain internal MBD standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations and guidelines (e.g. ASME Y14.41 ASME Y14.47 MILSTD31000).

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree 12 years of relevant experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • 8 years of experience in product design and development with a strong focus on ModelBased Design (MBD) or related methodologies.

  • Proven experience in leading MBD initiatives developing workflows and training teams in MBD best practices.

  • Experience in applying MBD principles including 3D annotations PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) and digital thread concepts.

  • Strong knowledge of 3D CAD software (e.g. CATIA Siemens NX Creo) and PDM/PLM systems.

  • Proven track record of driving MBD implementation and managing digital transformation projects.

  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing techniques including additive manufacturing and digital twins.

  • Experience in industries such as aerospace automotive or industrial manufacturing.

  • Certification in modelbased design or related methodologies

  • Experience in stakeholder management and ensuring that all teams remain aligned to business objectives while maintaining a customercentric approach.

  • Proven track record of driving team accountability for meeting project deadlines budgets and quality standards.

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
