The Department of Corrections Division of Administration & Supportis recruiting for a Supply Technician 2 located in Anchorage Alaska.

You Will Be Doing:

As the Supply Technician 2 you will process procurement requests from Department of Corrections staff ensuring compliance with procurement laws regulations and policies. You will handle both commodity and service orders including informal procurements using contracts vendors and catalogs. The role involves tracking orders managing inventory and receiving and inspecting deliveries including resolving any discrepancies or damages. You will also coordinate with vendors to ensure quality timely deliveries and accurate billing. Additionally you may pick up urgent orders and are responsible for reconciling invoices and addressing billing issues.

Our office is located in the Robert B. Atwood Building in downtown Anchorage with a work environment that is collaborative and customer service oriented. Our Procurement Team works as a tight knit group that values each others contributions and this position will interface daily with a variety of people including staff field offices other managers directors other executives and vendors.

We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position specific competencies:

  • Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces including the general public individuals who work in the agency other agencies or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs provide information or assistance resolve their problems or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Computer Skills: Uses computers software applications databases and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience performing tasks such asordering store keeping purchasing sales accounting shipping greeting clients assisting customers answering phones typing filing sorting mail entering data cashiering or maintaining logs.


Substitution:

Education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (2.67 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education equal one month of experience).

Please be aware this position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN)/Alaska Corrections Offender Management System (ACOMS). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN/ACOMS. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
