Job Description

Network Operations Engineer (1 Journeyman 1 Jr.)
Clearance: Secret
Location: Norfolk Virginia
Schedule: 5 days / week onsite at the Naval base in Norfolk VA.
Position Description
The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) builds and maintains sustainable facilities delivers utilities and services and provides Navy expeditionary combat force capabilities. NAVFAC requires facilities under its command and the facility related controls systems (FRCS) in them to be interconnected to properly provide Technical Management Continuous Monitoring and an EndtoEnd (E2E) Cyber Defense capabilities to NAVFACs Facilities Engineering Commands. The Control Systems Platform Enclave version 3 (CSPEv3) has been identified as the networking platform these systems will connect to and requires location specific integration for each of the designated control systems that will be connected.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Operations Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the enterprise network infrastructure for a DoD client with a focus on Cisco SDWAN and Palo Alto firewalls ensuring high availability performance and security. This role requires a Familiarity with security frameworks and industry standards like NIST SP 80082 Rev. A ISO/IEC 27001 CIS Controls DoD 8500.01 etc. The Network Operations engineer should also be familiar with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems and vulnerability scanners i.e. Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
The primary job of the CSPEv3 NOC support team is to support local and remote locations where CSPEv3 infrastructure is deployed in order to integrate FRCS systems into this network topology with an end goal of enhancing the cyber security posture and enable continuous monitoring of critical systems.
Desired Skills
Proficiency in designing deploying and managing Cisco SDWAN solutions.
Expertise in configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls.
Understanding of network protocols services and security (e.g. TCP/IP BGP OSPF VPN).
Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g. SolarWinds Cisco Prime).Problemsolving and troubleshooting communication and collaboration skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have 35 years of relevant Systems Engineering experience in performing system issue analysis risk management system troubleshooting and system documentation.
Education/Experience
35 years of experience in network support and network administration or combination of education training & experience
Preferred Certifications include
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise
Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
CompTIA Security
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) (optional)
