Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Network Engineer to perform as a consultant for leading edge information technologies and methodologies to join our team in the Annapolis Junction MD area. Our dynamic team provides full spectrum network connectivity including architecture engineering development integration deployment configuration management project management and network security services to the global enterprise as well as systems and cloud engineering services for application modernization and transition of legacy applications into hybrid cloud platforms.
Duties may include but are not limited to: Design and plan network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network. Advises network users of hardware requirements configurations and limitations. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing such as routers multiplexers firewalls hubs bridges gateways etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in computer science information systems engineering science or related discipline and minimum of 12 years of IT related experience is required. Five (5) years of additional IT related experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
- Must have experience architecting solutions for needs throughout the IC including IP routing addressing IP Multicast IP QOS and IP encryptors.
- Demonstrated experience with WAN boundary integration and Red and Black WAN design.
- Ability to develop newtork architectures and work with customers to develop test plans and conduct testing of architecture as required.
- Ability to provide highly technical and specialized guidance and solutions to complex IT problems and manage work as defined by customer.
- Active/current TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Peratons total compensation package for employees.
