What Youll Do in This Role:

The primary role of a Medication Technician is to be a key player in enhancing the lives of residents by ensuring the precise and timely administration of medications and treatments. These dedicated professionals are essential to providing exceptional medical support fostering a vibrant caring environment that promotes the health safety and wellbeing of each resident. In addition to managing medications they assist with daily health monitoring and offer compassionate personal care making a real difference in the lives of those they serve every day.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Passes medications and gives treatments.
• Obtains and records resident vital signs weight food and fluid intake and output.
• Assist with medication refills ordering and inventory management to ensure an adequate supply of medications is available.
• Assists new residents and families in the orientation process.
• Assist with daily health monitoring including taking vital signs administering medications and providing personal care as needed.
• Assists all residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Assists residents in preparing for activities social programs and transporting.
• Interacts with residents in friendly manner while structuring their day and monitoring their needs.
• Maintains accurate documentation in residents charts and in the Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR).
• Assists with meal service

What Youll Need:

High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical assisting or a related field preferred.

Prefer experience of at least 1 year of medication passing in a healthcare setting.

Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferably with seniors or in longterm care.

Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighting up to 35 pounds without assistance.

Previous working knowledge of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) systems preferred.
