What Youll Be Doing:
While beginning training to understand and operate CNC laser equipment employee will assist with setting up tools and equipment to operate CNC laser equipment. He or she must form/cut material as specified by work order and specific blueprints and diagrams and complete the necessary quality inspections of product.More experienced operators may perform independent setup following orientation and initial training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.
- Assist with setup of machine tooling and fixtures.
- Use beginners knowledge of M&G code and makes minor adjustments to meet production goals.
- Use appropriate measuring tools to assure required quality standards are met.
- Follow all verbal and written instructions pertaining to the operation of the CNC laser machine and related equipment as well as any other jobs to which he/she may be assigned.
- Produce quality parts which include the placement of raw material assisting in the removal of parts and packing and cutting parts by hand (where applicable).
- Successfully complete all training including RFC Academy (JIT 5S Lean Manufacturing Kaizen and Six Sigma SPC) Basic Quality Math Blueprint Reading and CNC traineelevel courses as required.
- Use a working knowledge of computers including manufacturing software/business systems in order to create WorkInProcess or Finished Goods/Inventory Tickets. Also use setup charts address rework/defective parts complete end of shift paperwork review route sheets and understand tool storage/staging operation
- Follow safety guidelines handle parts and practice general housekeeping.
Hours/Shifts: Seeking weekend day and 3rd shift candidates
WE/D: 6:00AM 6:00PM Friday Saturday & Sunday $3/hr. shift premium
3rd: 7PM 5:30AM Monday Thursday $1.50/hr. shift premium
* Employees hired for Weekend or 3rd shift will train on 1st shift.
We are doing some shifting of manufacturing equipment when our new facility opens our laser cutting equipment is scheduled to move in the next year or so. As equipment moves well ask team members to move with it so we are looking for team members willing to move closer to or commute to Shelbyville KY once the equipment is relocated.
Qualifications
- One to three months of related experience and/or training; CNC machines machine setup metalworking welding/fabrication
- Computer Skills are required to perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software and ability to learn how to new programs.
- Able to lift 50 75 lbs on a regular basis
- Able to work shift assigned and overtime as needed.
- Willing to relocate to Shelbyville KY facility when equipment is moved in the next year.
Preferred:
- Consistent experience in manufacturing setting in setup and machine operation or metal fabrication. This could include: Setting up/running CNC equipment Performing part quality inspections Blueprint reading Experience with making adjustments to CNC programs
- Strong work history including good longevity in previous role
