Job Description

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is hiring a Trash & Recycling Valet Technician to provide nightly door side to dumpster trash and recycling valet services for a multifamily community in Midvale UT. With short evening shifts during the week this position is great for people looking to make some additional income while still enjoying a work life balance.

Responsibilities

As a DoorSide to Dumpster Trash & Recycling Valet Technician you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of apartment communities. Upon arriving at work you will check in using our app and begin your role. You will service each door of the community visually inspecting for bagged trash recycling and broken down cardboard left out by resident and use onsite equipment to bring to onsite dumpsters. Typically your shift will range between 2 to 3 hours per evening. Please note that this estimate is based on historical data. This variability is due to several factors including but not limited to: The number of residents who put out trash and recycling on any given night. Special events or seasonal changes that might increase or decrease waste output temporarily. Operational adjustments or unforeseen circumstances that could either shorten or extend your shift.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Collecting bagged trash recycling and brokendown cardboard from residents door sides using onsite equipment.
• Transporting these materials to designated onsite dumpsters trash chutes or compactors.
• Separating recyclables into appropriate dumpsters and inspecting for contamination.
• Engaging with residents you encounter providing a friendly and professional service.
• Issuing Educational Courtesy Compliance Notices for noncompliant trash or contaminated recycling along with taking necessary photos.
• Uploading photos and compliance notices into our app to document your findings.
• Cleaning up any loose trash around dumpsters chute rooms or compactors.
• Returning all equipment to its designated location after service completion.
• Additional tasks may include replacing bags at pet waste stations collecting bagged pet waste and managing community waste bins near doors or common areas such as pools and other amenities.
• At the end of your shift you will check out using our app.
• This position requires extensive walking and in some cases climbing stairs. Some communities may also require the use of a personal open bed pickup truck.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be conscientious reliable and exhibit a friendly and helpful attitude towards onsite management and residents.

• A valid Drivers License and ability to operate a motor vehicle in Utah is required.

(Valid documentation included but not limited to Auto Liability Insurance and Drivers license must be maintained.)

• Must be able to physically lift and transport up to 50 lbs. and able to work in indoor and outdoor environments during various weather conditions.
• Must be able to ascend or descend stairs and walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to speak read and write in English
• Possess a smartphone with an active data plan and location services enabled
