Collins Aerospace an RTX company is seeking a Systems Engineering Department Manager for the Protected Communications Systems (PCS) business unit.
The immediate leadership opportunity is for an experienced Department Manager (DM) for the PCS Systems Engineering Organization. The DM is responsible for staffing program execution for PCS Systems Engineering across the full program lifecycle including systems engineering system security engineering (program cyber) and integration and verification spanning two geographic sites (Marlborough MA and Largo FL). Responsibilities include department financial planning and execution process conformance technology development staffing independent reviews pursuits and Estimates at Complete (EACs). Additionally the DM will be responsible for enabling a staffing strategy implementing knowledge transfer and supporting employee career development plans via intentional growth pipelines. The DM will report into the PCS Engineering Director and actively participate as a member of the PCS Engineering Leadership Team.
Qualifications You Must Have
Minimum of 12 years of systems engineering experience in two or more of the following disciplines: architecture requirements development and decomposition modeling & simulation integration verification and validation (IVV) and leadership (chief engineer lead systems engineer section manager etc.)
Financial literacy including Earned Value Certification and experience in the development and management of financial budgets (labor and nonlabor)
Experience performing functional management activities including staffing performance reviews and career discussions participating in compensation discussions and flowing communications/information from higher levels down to staff members
Requires prior leadership experience and strong written and oral communication skills including presentation preparation and delivery and demonstrated problem solving organization coordination and planning skills
Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of the organization
Ability to travel including between two geographic sites (Marlborough MA and Largo FL)
Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
Knowledge of PCS Products and programs
Familiarity with Digital Engineering / Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience in the drafting authoring and approval of engineering bids / basis of estimates (BOEs)
Strong track record of leading programs/tasks within schedule and budget

The salary range for this role is 147000 USD 295000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
