Location: Columbia MO
Type: Staff Fulltime
Pay: $35000 $38000 per year (Pay range may vary based on geographic location)

Job Summary:
The Assistant Volleyball Coach assists the Head Volleyball Coach in running a highly successful NAIA volleyball program. Perform job duties in accordance with Columbia Colleges vision mission and values and contribute to the development of the Athletic Department. Maintain the integrity of the athletic program through the knowledge and application of NAIA rules and regulations. As a Recruitment Assistant the position will also be responsible for recruiting prospective students by conducting effective direct outreach coordinating recruiting events visiting high schools junior/community colleges military installations or business partners attending college fairs and providing group and individual information sessions and presentations where possible.
Assist the Head volleyball coach in all daytoday operations of the program including but not limited to the following tasks:
  • Identification of potential studentathletes recruitment of qualified studentathletes and maintenance of recruitment files.
  • Organization and coordination of daily practice plans.
  • Game day preparations include field setup and breakdown uniform and equipment preparation game plan preparation warmup activities and game evaluation.
  • Inventory management of uniforms and equipment and input into purchasing decisions on new equipment.
  • Video operations and analysis.
  • Scouting of opponents.
  • Monitoring and supervision of studentathletes including athletic activities academic progress eligibility concerns and disciplinary issues.
  • Work effectively with students studentathletes administrators faculty staff parents alumni officials and coaching peers.
  • Be active in departmentwide fundraising activities and related professional duties.
  • Practice superior customer service.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Display respect and civility to all constituencies regardless of the method of communication.
  • Attend work timely and during the established hours of operation regularly; work additional hours as business necessitates.

As a Recruitment Assistant this position will assist the admissions office in student recruitment including performing the following tasks:
  • Direct student outreach will be conducted using phone email and SMS through the college CRM system.
  • Develop analyze and disseminate thorough reports tracking the progress and status of travel & prospective students through our CRM.
  • Maintain and document all calls emails texts and other interactions with prospects/applicants/students according to departmental procedures in the CRM (and/or other applicable databases).
  • The Recruitment Assistant will be expected to build and maintain positive relationships with students and referral partners to increase enrollment yield.
  • Other duties include basic counseling on financial aid and cost analyzing territory trends serving as a resource connection point and serving on the appropriate graduation team for the assigned territory.

  • Head Volleyball Coach
  • Senior Director of Recruitment
  • Coordinator of Athletic Recruitment

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Previous coaching and recruiting experience.

Preferred Education/Experience:
  • Masters Degree
  • 24 years of college or high school coaching experience
  • Experience with film and scouting reports
  • Experience with Photoshop & Creating Graphics
