We are seeking a Workers Compensation Specialist to join our team in Jacksonville FL! You will enjoy working in office with a team that collaborates by telephone and email with adjusters and nurse case managers to coordinate patient care for injured workers obtain authorizations process documentation and maintain ongoing administrative support ensuring accurate and complete documentation.
The Workers Compensation Specialist communicates directly with employers adjusters nurse case managers and carriers to register schedule and secure prior authorization for services for our patients who were injured at work. Care coordination is completed by phone and email with our referral sources
Candidates must have 1 year of customer service and call center experience 1 year of heath care experience and excellent phone and email communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Effective multitasking skills in a highvolume fastpaced teamoriented environment.
Working knowledge of computer applications to successfully navigate practice management systems.
Provides consistent highquality verbal and written communication with providers adjusters case managers and patients.
Completes administrative review of received medical records and treatment notes to ensure completion accuracy and program compliance.
Maintains all records and reports with accuracy.
Obtain and process authorizations for continued care of the injured worker.
The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for job position.
EXPERIENCE EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS
This position will accept any one of the below experiences as qualification:
Oneyear medical business office experience in physician office orthopedic practice or hospital environment.
Oneyear customer service call center experience in health care or insurance industry.
Workers Compensation experience is always preferred.
Athena experience is always preferred.
High school diploma/GED.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working with Microsoft applications including Word. Excel and Outlook.
Ability to work productively in a fastpaced environment.
Ability to learn and retain company policies state and federal policies and workflow processes.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of workers compensation and/or healthcare insurance
Knowledge of physician group operation and clinic policies.
Knowledge of authorization and verification processes.
Skill in the billing authorization process.
Skill in obtaining necessary approvals for Workers Compensation to reduce denials.
Ability to proficiently use arithmetic calculations in data collection and interpretation.
Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients families physicians management and other staff.
Ability to communicate openly and honestly with management and staff.
