Job Description
Role Purpose
The CNC Jig Tool & Die Maker (Red Seal) is responsible for the precision manufacturing maintenance and repair of jigs fixtures dies and tools used in CNC machining operations. This highly skilled role ensures production efficiency and accuracy through the delivery of highquality tooling solutions tailored to automated manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Tooling Design & Manufacturing
- Manufacture modify and assemble precision jigs tools and dies for CNC machining.
- Interpret technical drawings CAD files and specifications to create accurate tooling components.
CNC Machining Support
- Collaborate with CNC operators and engineers to ensure tooling compatibility with machinery.
- Assist in programming setups calibrations and finetuning for improved cycle times and precision.
Maintenance & Repairs
- Conduct routine maintenance and timely repairs of tooling to avoid production interruptions.
- Diagnose tooling issues wear patterns and suggest improvement modifications.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure tools and dies meet dimensional accuracy and tolerances as per project requirements.
- Document inspections maintain quality records and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Red Seal Trade Certification: Jig Tool & Die Maker
- Minimum 35 years experience in a CNC machining environment
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering and CAD drawings
- Handson experience with precision measuring tools machining processes and toolroom equipment
- Familiarity with CNC lathes mills and EDM machines is advantageous
