Job Description
Under general supervision and according to established policy and procedures the tool and die maker is responsible for performing his/her own set-ups and machine/grind all necessary components required to complete assignments given to support all manufacturing product lines.
- Strong understanding of slip and press fit relationships.
- Repair Header tools and make complete header tool components.
- Work with carbide hardened tool steels dies and cutting tools to close tolerance.
- Work with mills lathes surface grinders hones and fixtures.
- Use shop math as required.
- Clean and maintain the work area.
Skills and Formal Training Requirements/Experience
- Good machining skills.
- Shop math
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Use measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers calipers comparators).
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a tool maker for a manufacturing facility.
