Were looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual whos passionate about delivering outstanding customer service to join our Trade Effluent Quality Team as a Technical Specialist based in Inverness. What youll do
In this role youll play a key part in helping Scottish Water protect the environment and uphold important regulations around Trade Effluent. Youll be responsible for monitoring and managing trade effluent discharges to make sure they comply with Scottish Water policies and legal requirements. Your work will involve investigating pollution incidents checking compliance with consents and following up on any issues that arise.
Youll also provide expert advice on pollution prevention and environmental regulations to a variety of industrial and commercial customers. Alongside this youll help verify information used to calculate wholesale charges making sure its accurate and up to date. Its a varied role where youll make a real difference to environmental performance and customer outcomes.
What youll need
Were looking for someone who shares our passion for delivering great customer service and takes pride in getting things right. You should have a good understanding of water and/or wastewater services along with some knowledge of current environmental legislation and scientific principles.
To succeed in this role youll need at least an HND/HNCin a scientific discipline such as Environmental Science; Chemistry or Chemistry with joint disciplines. A full UK driving licence is also essential as youll be out and about supporting customers and sites across the area.

This role will be a Grade 6. If youre new to Scottish Water youll join us on a starting salary of 33560. Performancedriven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of 44140.
This role will be based in Inverness youll need to live within commuting distance of the area.
