Key Responsibilities:
Dual Enrollment Program Coordination
Collaborate with the high school instructor for the dualcredit ECED program in collaboration with D26 ensuring alignment with Ivy Techs curriculum and academic standards.
Develop and maintain partnerships with local early learning programs to secure student apprenticeship placements.
Assist in the completion of all necessary apprenticeship paperwork.
Act as a liaison between Ivy Tech D26 and community partners to ensure successful program implementation and continuous improvement.
Instructional Duties
Coteach ECED courses in collaboration with the high school instructor for high school dualcredit students using engaging ageappropriate and researchbased teaching strategies aligned to the NAEYC Professional Standards and Competencies for Early Childhood Educators.
Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and assessments to support student learning and development.
Post both high school and college final grades in accordance with institutional policies and deadlines.
Incorporate field placement and experiential learning opportunities into the curriculum to enhance handson learning opportunities.
Field Placement Coordination
Coordinate and supervise student apprenticeships and field placements for all Anderson D26 students in the program.
Assist with field placement coordination/approval for regular Ivy Tech Anderson students and check in with sites and students while out in the field.
Ensure field placements align with program objectives and meet accreditation standards.
Monitor student performance during apprenticeships providing feedback and support to both students and site supervisors.
Maintain accurate documentation of field placements and related student activities.
Career Coaching and Advising
Advise ECED dual credit students to ensure successful high school completion and alignment with their transfer and career goals.
Support students in navigating the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Indiana scholarship program to complete the Ivy Tech ECED AS TSAP pathway.
Provide guidance for students considering transfer to bachelors degree programs including creating clear pathways for academic and career advancement.
Assist students in identifying and securing employment opportunities in the early childhood education field.
Administrative Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Early Childhood Education Department Chair to align program goals and outcomes including necessary documentation for grant outcomes and NAEYC accreditation.
Work with the Department Chair to coordinate reporting and forms for apprenticeship grant payments.
Stay current with trends and best practices in early childhood education to ensure program excellence.
Maintain compliance with state federal and accreditation standards for early childhood education programs.
Attend relevant department and campus meetings.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
Masters degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or a related field.
Minimum of three 3 years of experience in early childhood education including teaching career coaching and field placement coordination.
Hold or be able to quickly acquire the Council for Professional Recognitions Professional Development Specialist (PDS) credential for preschool and infant toddler to qualify to complete CDA verification visits for high school students.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with educational institutions and community partners.
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with learning management systems and other educational technologies.
Preferred:
Experience with dualcredit/dualenrollment programs or teaching high school students.
Knowledge of apprenticeship programs workforce development initiatives and scholarship programs such as T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Indiana.
Familiarity with NAEYC Higher Education Accreditation Standards and Competencies.
Working Conditions:
This position involves teaching administrative duties advising students and regular collaboration with community partners. Some local travel to apprenticeship sites may be required. This position is an Ivy Tech position but the employee will base out of the D26 Career Center with Anderson Community Schools.
This is a grant funded position of 100 full time 9 month academic year contracts and 25 summer contracts through December 2027.
