Under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools and in collaboration with the Central Office the Principal of Reingold Elementary provides instructional leadership to staff including curriculum planning review and implementation; professional development; the implementation of all school committee policies and the development of administrative systems and procedures which maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the school.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors and Masters degrees from an accredited college or university; an advanced degree is preferred
- VALID Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in:
- Principal/Assistant Principal (PreK8
- SEI Endorsement
- Previous experience as a principal headmaster or equivalent;
- Proven track record of improving a schools students growth and achievement;
- Proven track record of supporting and actively engaging instructional leadership teams;
- At least five 5 years of classroom teaching experience at the elementary level is preferred;
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply; Spanish Haitian Creole Portuguese and Hmong are our most common languages;
- Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations;
- Ability to work effectively with teachers support staff and parents and advocate for children to effectively problemsolve;
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders;

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Principal will:
- Provide leadership and oversight on daily operations for all students and staff atReingold Elementary School;
- Foster a strong partnership to work cooperatively with all members of the school community to support the districts theory of action goals and values;
- Identify train and implement systems that will support students success and direct/coordinate the efforts of teachers and families with support services;
- Utilize a positive proactive approach to maintain a standard of student behavior designed to foster trust respect and minimize school and classroom interruptions;
- Serve as chairperson on the School Council to develop and implement the school improvement plan and as an advisor to the Parent Teacher Organization;
- Promote the learning and growth of all students and the success of all staff by ensuring a safe efficient and effective learning environment using resources to implement appropriate curriculum staffing and scheduling;
- Plan and develop the budget process with appropriate staff; prepare budget recommendations and maintain an approved budget that supports the districts vision mission and goals;
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff members including administrators teachers educational assistants nurses and support staff and serve as evaluator and coach for all staff;
- Plan and conduct faculty meetings grade gradelevel meetings data meetings and professional development as necessary to promote and maintain high standards for staff students and community members about the mission vision and core values of the school and district;
- Collaborate with other district administrators in assessing and recommending district programs and services;
- Serve as a member of the district leadership team and other districtlevel committees as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools;
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding students families personnel and school matters
- Perform any other reasonable duty assigned/requested by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee
- Experience meeting DESE requirements implementing school committee policies and district procedures and expectations in elementary schools;
- Provide support and leadership in the development of cohesive and connected programs specifically designed to address the opportunities for ALL students;
- Promote the learning and growth of all students and the success of all staff by cultivating a shared vision that makes powerful teaching and learning the central focus of education;
- Ensure that all teachers design effective and rigorous standardsbased instruction consisting of wellstructured lessons with measurable outcomes;
- Ensure that instructional practices in all settings reflect high expectations regarding content and quality of effort and work engage all students and are personalized to accommodate diverse learning styles needs interests and levels of readiness;
- Ensure that all teachers use a variety of formal and informal methods and assessments to measure student learning growth and understanding and make necessary adjustments to their practice when students are not meeting appropriate benchmarks;
- Provide effective and timely supervision and evaluation in alignment with state regulations and contract provisions
- Use multiple sources of evidence related to student learning including state district and school assessment results and growth data to inform school and district goals and improve organizational performance educator effectiveness and student learning;
- Participate in systemwide curriculum development and work with faculty to improve and revise curricula continuously;
- Collaborate with the district admin in the development of a cohesive orientation and screening process for students and families;
- Maintain a professional understanding of the current research that affects the improvement of teaching and learning;
- Experience implementing a structured literacy approach to early readers;
- Family and Community Engagement:
- Foster a culture of welcoming and belonging for all students families and staff;
- Promote the learning and growth of all students and the success of all staff through effective partnerships with families community organizations and other stakeholders that support the mission of the school and district;
- Collaborate with families to support student learning and development both at home and at school;
- Engage in regular twoway culturally proficient communication with families about student learning and performance
- Address family concerns in an equitable effective and efficient manner;
- Communicates consistently and regularly with the wider school community regarding school activities and initiatives;

Terms of Employment/Salary/Work Year:
The work year shall consist of 212 days during the twelve months commencing each July 1. The work year shall include days when school is scheduled to be in session. The principal may also be required to work two full weeks before the opening day of school and the other one full week after the final day for staff. The scheduling of all their workdays during the contract year shall be at the discretion of the Principal but subject to the submission by the Principal of a written proposed schedule which is subject to the approval of the Superintendent together with the requirement of working the days set forth above.
Salary range: $128000 to $135000
DOE to be negotiated with the Superintendent of Schools
