40Summary:
We are searching for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who is motivated to work in an exciting outpatient Pediatric Neurology setting.
In this position you will practice in an advanced role to provide developmentally appropriate comprehensive care for children with a myriad of neurologic conditions. You will work collaboratively with our Neurosciences team as well as other members of the childs healthcare team. You will practice under established clinical protocols and guidelines. You will independently assess diagnose and initiate or continue treatment as appropriate.
Schedule will be Monday through Friday. No weekends. No major holidays.
This is an outpatient setting working with our Neurology team. No inpatient time.
The chosen candidate will need to have a current DEA license prior to starting.
Responsibilities include:
Education/Experience:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Masters Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or 2 years experience as an FNP in a primary care setting strongly preferred
Physician Assistants
Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies strongly preferred
Minimum of two years Pediatric primary/specialty or acute care setting experience OR 2 years experience in related allied health field (i.e. family practice setting with heavy component of pediatric patients) strongly preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Current Texas professional registered nurse license
Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
Recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse
Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred*
Physician Assistants
Current Texas professional physician assistant license
Recognition from the Texas State Medical Board as a Physician Assistant.
Certification as a Physician Assistant PAC required.
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred*
* PALS certification is required when assigned to Anesthesiology Care Team Complex Care Fostering Health H/O and Neurology departments.
