Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Gas Pipeline Technician (Electrical Instrumentation) to join our team in Townsville where youll play a key role in ensuring the efficient safe and effective of work on the North Queensland Gas Pipeline. You will perform field maintenance and operational activities including instrumentation and electrical tasks. This is a permanent Monday to Thursday 38 hours per week) role with a rotational oncall component so we are looking for someone who resides locally to Townsville or surrounding area.

What youll do

  • Maintain electrical/instrumentation.
  • Maintain hazardous area dossiers.
  • Maintain updates and repairs to control systems.
  • Perform fiscal and nonfiscal calibrations on all transmitters and perform metering validations.
  • Maintain and gather readings from cathodic protection system.
  • Manage E&l maintenance documentation and electronic records.
  • Performs repairs and troubleshooting installations and updates on PLC Programming equipment.
  • Manage stock levels of E&I spare parts.
  • Regular and routine Pipeline Patrols.
  • Liaison work with landholders stakeholders and public authorities.
  • 100 compliance with OH&S and workplace policies and procedures.

What youll have

  • Electrical license and trade qualification and a valid drivers license.
  • Cert III in instrumentation and control.
  • Cert IV Hazardous areas Electrical.
  • NACE CP tester accreditation highly regarded.
  • Type B Gas appliance Service commission and install or willingness to obtain competency.
  • Experience working on or around underground assets.
  • High pressure gas experience preferred.
  • Forklift HRWL highly regarded.
  • Work experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance in either Chemical Manufcturing Oil &Gas or a Mineral Processing environment.
