Shift Engineer

Join Hilton Adelaide today! Were excited to welcome a Shift Engineer to our team. In this role youll play a key part in supporting the Engineering Department to ensure smooth hotel operations. Youll help deliver uninterrupted service to our guests while maintaining tools equipment and workspaces to the highest standards.

Hilton Adelaide is centrally located overlooking Victoria Square. The hotel has 377 rooms ranging from guest rooms to the executive floor and suites. Hilton Adelaide offers unrivalled conference and events facilities comprising of 19 meeting rooms. It is the only 5star hotel in Adelaide able to host 500 delegates to meet eat and sleep all under one roof.

What will I be doing

In your new role as a shift engineer in addition to the normal trade work all positions within the Maintenance Department assist with other trade works and nontrade general maintenance work as appropriate including but not limited to

Air conditioning maintenance and electrical repairs and installation

Refrigeration electrical repairs installation and maintenance

Painting carpentry and decorating

Cleaning of plant areas and switch rooms

Perform daytoday general maintenance duties within the hotel rooms and public areas including small carpentry plumbing and general maintenance

Work closely with the Maintenance Team on any projects or schedules

Maintain all tools equipment and working areas in proper condition

Understand and have the ability to or learn to monitor mechanical services plant

Perform any other tasks as requested by the Maintenance Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel

What are we looking for

Trade certificate qualified (essential)

Electrical trade qualification (highly desirable)

Previous maintenance experience ideally in a hotel hospital ship or retail setting

Solid general maintenance knowledge

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and manage competing tasks

A passion for tackling a variety of tasks and projects daily

Experience in a 5star hotel or luxury resort setting highly regarded

Passion for exceptional service and guest experience

Strong awareness of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) practices and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for all
