Job Description

Job Title: Financial Controller

Overview:
A highly rated hotel and restaurant property in the Napa Valley area is seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to oversee the Finance and Accounting Department. This position will be hybrid out of their corporate office in Newport Beach.

This is a handson leadership position responsible for ensuring financial integrity mentoring the accounting team and driving process improvements across departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all aspects of accounting operations including GAAP compliance and internal controls.
  • Manage the full monthend close cycle including journal entries reconciliations and reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements management reports and supporting schedules.
  • Oversee and forecast cash flow to meet operational needs across multiple accounts.
  • Coordinate development of annual budgets forecasts and financial models with department leaders.
  • Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts monthly; identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accuracy of intercompany accounting across multiple entities.
  • Establish and enhance accounting procedures policies and internal controls.
  • Travel to Napa Valley to visit property as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field required.
  • CPA MBA or CHAE certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience including 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry (hotels restaurants or resorts) is highly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP cash management and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data and communicate clearly with leadership and crossfunctional teams.
  • Highly organized detailoriented and capable of managing multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills; comfortable in a fastpaced handson environment.
