Job Description
The Audio Podcast Advertising program supports the growth of Amazon Music Free Wondery ART19 Twitch and Alexa. We started our Audio advertising program in 2021 with a focus on Streaming Audio and Podcasts. Our vision is to build a world class audio advertising program and deliver more than $1B in revenue by 2030.
Were building a core engineering team in New York to support all new Audio Podcast Advertising programs. Were looking for passionate teamoriented and selfdriven software builders to design and develop delightful user experiences for audio advertisers publishers and listeners. This is a unique opportunity and time to get in early and deliver significant portions of the technical roadmap.
Key job responsibilities
You lead the design implementation and delivery of software in ambiguous and complex problem spaces (at the team level).
You think in terms of architecture not just code. You proactively work to improve the consistency and integration between your teams software and any related software (owned by other teams).
You take the lead in identifying and solving web app/architecture deficiencies or areas where your teams software bottlenecks the innovation of other teams. You help your team deliver higher quality software faster (or fail faster to get to the right solution).
You are able to communicate your ideas effectively to achieve the right outcome for your team and customer.
You harmonize discordant views and lead the resolution of contentious issues (build consensus).
You lead design reviews for your team and actively participate in design reviews of related software or other team software at your location.
Your code design and implementation decisions set a great example to others and demonstrate best practices.
You provide insightful code reviews and take ownership of outcome.
You actively participate in the hiring process as well as mentor others

About the team
Modern communication tools are democratizing story telling and the audio industry is shifting to digital. We build solutions providing programmatic and dealbased advertising access to streaming audio and podcasts. Our supply includes Amazon Music Free streaming audio listening Alexa News 3P listening on Alexa (e.g. iHeart and Spotify) 1P podcasts (Owned and Operated by Wondery) 2P podcasts hosted by ART19 (Amazons Hosting Provider) as well as 3P podcasts hosted elsewhere. Our program delivers highly relevant ads to audio podcast listeners while preserving listener privacy to provide a best in class user experience.
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
