Are you a dedicated veterinary technician seeking to advance your skills in internal medicine and interventional radiology Were seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician I to join our dynamic team in the Internal Medicine and Interventional Radiology Department.In this role youll support faculty staff and veterinary students in providing exceptional patient care treatments and imaging procedures. Join us at the Texas A&M Small Animal Teaching Hospital and make a difference in the lives of animals and the future of veterinary medicine!

Opportunities to Contribute

Minimum Required Education: Associate or bachelors degree in veterinary technology biomedical science animal science or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Certification as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) and/or one year experience in a veterinary medical setting.

The successful candidate will have a thorough working knowledge of veterinary equipment particularly in their area of specialization. They should demonstrate knowledge of canine and feline anatomy and physiology be able to handle and restrain patients using fearfree and felinefriendly methods and possess knowledge of endocrinology respiratory urinary gastroenterology infectious disease endoscopy and interventional imaging procedures. Additionally they must communicate professionally and positively have basic computer skills and be able to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

What you need to know

Salary: Starting at $19.11/hour.

Schedule: This schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.

Please Note: Persons in this position are considered essential when the University declares an emergency campus closure class cancellations etc. and are therefore required to report to work and remain on duty unless/until relieved by the direct supervisor.
