Responsibilities
The Senior Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing CDC Public Health Infrastructure Grant activities within the DOH Regional Offices. The Senior Program Coordinator will report to the Division Director Public Health Infrastructure and provide direct support to Regional Office and Local Health Department Commissioners and their designated staff. Specific duties will include overseeing program planning/activities ensuring compliance with CDC Public Health Infrastructure grant requirements streamlining communication between Regional Offices and Local Health Departments hosting workgroup meetings to bring Central OPH Programs and Services to Regional Offices. The Senior Program Coordinator will liaise between the Public Health Infrastructure team and the Regional Offices to bring public health continuing education academic partnerships and community engagement and outreach resources statewide. The Senior Program Coordinator will be responsible for representing the office on workgroups supervising staff working with local health departments providing technical assistance to Regional Offices as it relates to CDC reporting recruitment and retention activities and other appropriate related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in a related field and four years of program coordination experience in a public health health or human servicesrelated program or communitybased organization; OR an Associates degree in a related field and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience. The experience must have been contributing toward the development implementation and/or evaluation of a program project or other related activities. A Masters degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. At least two years of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with contract/program management and provision of technical assistance to service providers.
Experience with policy analysis and development.
Experience monitoring and evaluating programs and quality improvement activities within a public health health government or social service setting.
Conditions of Employment
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting grant deliverables and contract deliverables is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Travel up to 25 of the time may be required.
The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York New Jersey Connecticut Vermont or Massachusetts prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available.
