Job Description

Dedicated Summer Day Camp Counselor for K6 needed at IC Imagine Charter School in Asheville NC. Schedule must be flexible between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM MondayFriday.
The camp counselor will perform a variety of tasks in a summer camp setting including recreation activities arts and crafts sports games etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively supervise and interact with large groups of young children.
- Be a responsible and reliable member of the team.
- Interact with children in a positive manner.
- Maintain positive communication with students.
- Continuously gauge the safety of students.
- Set an example for behavior.
- Utilize a positive reinforcement behavioral system
- Execute creative and educational activities that promote learning socialization and creativity.
- Prepare for the day by preparing snacks setting up activities etc.
- Set up rooms manage attendance help keep things tidy.
- Clean up after all children have left.
- Performs first aid following prescribed procedures and contacts emergency medical personnel when required by the situation.
Skills and Abilities:
- Work cohesively in a team setting
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- First Aid/CPR certified preferred
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 16 years old
- 1 year of childcare experience preferred
Physcial Requirements:
- Ability to join in with physical activity
- Able to maintain attention and a high level of energy or excitement for extended periods of time.
