AXA XL is the Property & Casualty risk division of AXA created from the acquisition of XL Catlin in 2018. We partner with midsized to multinational clients to take their business further with more than 30 lines of business to offer solutions for existing and emerging risks. With 9000 colleagues based in approximately 30 countries we are able to serve clients in more than 200 countries*.
The key purpose of the role is to support the Head of Capital Modelling Division in ensuring that the risk profile of the AXA XL Division is adequately modelled and communicated. This includes supporting engagement with AXA Group and the ACPR on capital issues in respect of the AXA XL Division such as the annual SCR assessment process.

What will your essential responsibilities include
- Support the Head of Capital Modelling Division in the development and maintenance of an internal capital model for the Division that reflects AXA Group standards. This includes support review and challenge of parameterisation processes validation of model output maintenance and optimisation of model code and model documentation
- Support the Head of Capital Modelling Division in coordinating and running appropriate committee and governance processes for the internal model
- Responsible for the production and presentation to senior management of the XLB Standard formula (BSCR) and such other analysis on this basis as may be required to support business strategy and planning
- Subject matter expert on the outwards reinsurance implementation in the capital model including input gathering/processing and indepth understanding of the impact of the various ceded structures on AXA XLs capital position. Maintain robust analyses of the ceded reinsurance programme and provide such information as may be required to support both the first and second opinions on the Ceded Reinsurance programme
- Subject matter expert on the Reinsurance Credit risk module including the responsibility for liaising with teams across the AXA XL Division and AXA Group to set review and challenge the parameters and modelling outputs.
- Communicate the output and methodology with other parts of AXA XL including those with a nontechnical background
- Develop and optimise the model output shared with key model stakeholders and ensure these are fit for purpose meet the requirements of the business and used appropriately
- Respond to queries or ad hoc investigations regarding the capital or underlying risk position of the Division
- Provision and development of capital modelling output to support actuarial analyses and risk second opinions
- Support for other entities within AXA XL using output from the Divisional model
- Direct management and development of three junior staff members
