The Department of Transportation Engineering District 10 invites you to step beyond the confines of the office and immerse yourself in the field as a Transportation Construction Inspector. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage directly in highway construction projects where your technical skills will be essential in assessing both materials and workmanship. In this role you will perform a variety of technical responsibilities related to the inspection of materials and workmanship for bridge projects within Engineering District 100 ensuring compliance with established construction codes plans standards and specifications. Your duties will include conducting structural inspections and gathering bridge inventory data in line with departmental policies and procedures to maintain a safe transportation system. Additionally you will assist a bridge inspection team leader by executing various technical tasks associated with the inspection of bridges and other structures adhering to the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS).
