Definition
Under general supervision leads and performs skilled maintenance and repair work on El Dorado Transit vehicles; provides direction and training to Equipment Technicians and other maintenance shop personnel; ensures safe and efficient operation of transit vehicles and equipment; diagnoses rebuilds and overhauls buses vans automobiles and other equipment operated by El Dorado Transit; is responsible for the installation maintenance and calibration of onboard transit software technologies including troubleshooting and repairs; performs inspections preventative maintenance and repair work as needed on building grounds and mechanical systems; performs related duties as assigned.
Class Characteristics
This is the leadlevel classification in the Maintenance Department. Incumbents are responsible for providing guidance training and oversight to maintenance staff ensuring that all maintenance and repair work meets operational standards and safety regulations. Positions at this level perform the most complex troubleshooting and repair work while coordinating workflow and assisting in prioritizing assignments.
This classification is distinguished from the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor which is responsible for direct supervision and higherlevel decisionmaking regarding personnel and shop operations.

A current Department of Motor Vehicles official K4 printout of your driving record must be given to El Dorado Transit to complete your application upon being called for an interview. It must run no more than 60 days prior to the date of your application being received by Human Resources. Resumes may be attached but may not be substituted for any portion of the application. All complete applications will be reviewed and the most suitable qualified applicants based on the information provided on their application will be invited to participate further in the examination process. Depending on the number of qualified candidates the examination process may include application screening and/or oral interview.
