ATTENTION ALL ALASKA RESIDENTS!

Join the Internal Review team at DOT&PFs Central Region where your attention to detail and analytical skills will help ensure public funds are used responsibly. As an Audit and Review Analyst 1/2 Flex youll support essential audits and reviews that uphold financial integrity and regulatory compliance across department operations and external partners.

Depending on the selected applicant this position will be filled as a Audit & Review Analyst 1 or 2.

Salary listed below:

Audit & Review Analyst 1: $36.68 / Hourly (overtime eligible)

Audit & Review Analyst 2: $3144.75 / biweekly (nonovertime eligible)


What You Will Be Doing:

Audit and Review Analyst 1

You will assist with audits and reviews of both internal operations and external entities like consultants and utility companies to audit to calculate indirect cost rates and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. This entrylevel role offers handson training and experience in auditing with opportunities to grow into more complex assignments.


Audit and Review Analyst 2

You will independently perform detailed audits and financial reviews of internal functions and external partners to evaluate compliance and validate cost rates. This position involves critical analysis special investigations and supporting leadership with highlevel financial insights while ensuring proper use of federal and state funds.

Competency Based Minimum Qualifications Instructions
This job class uses competency based minimum qualifications.Please ensure your application(through work history volunteer experience (duties summary) training education licenses certifications etc. supports how you have gained the knowledge skills abilities and behaviors (competencies) and that you possess the minimum required competencies for the job class.

Audit and Review Analyst 1:
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:


Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Certification as a Certified Public Accountant;
And/or
Postsecondary education in accounting public administration business administration or a closely related field that includes or is supplemented by 16 semester hours/24 quarter hours in accounting and 3 semester hours/4 quarter hours in auditing;
And/or
Prior accounting budgeting and/or financial management experience that includes such work as analysis preparation or evaluation of financial records and reports; cash management; financial auditing; financial planning; tax planning and preparation; or accounting systems administration.

Special Note:
Training and education are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction. It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom online selfstudy and onthejob) from accredited and unaccredited sources and longduration (such as a postsecondary degree) and shortduration (such as a seminar) programs.

Audit and Review Analyst 2:

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

  • Principles of Accounting: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles standards and practices (for example double entry accounting accrual accounting) including the full accounting cycle and the preparation of work sheets financial statements ledgers and journals.
  • Auditing: Knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards and procedures for conducting financial and compliance economy and efficiency and program audits.
  • Analysis and Assessment: Uses information technology in accessing collecting analyzing maintaining and disseminating data and information.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing evaluating and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with State and federal laws regulations and guidance.
  • Audit Reporting: Knowledge of the principles practices and techniques used to report audit findings (criteria condition cause effect and recommendation).
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Certification as a Certified Public Accountant;
And/or
Postsecondary education in accounting public administration business administration or a closely related field that includes or is supplemented by 16 semester hours/24 quarter hours in accounting and 3 semester hours/4 quarter hours in auditing;
And/or
Professional experience performing independent audits of organizations to assure fiscal compliance with contractual or grant terms or performing less complex management analyses and/or operational audits.

FLEXIBLY STAFFED
This position is flexibly staffed. This vacancy may be filled at either theAudit and Review Analyst
1or Audit and Review Analyst2level depending on the applicants training and/or experience. The full range of salaries is listed above. Starting salary will be determined by the level the position is hired at. If filled at Level 1 promotion to the Level 2 will occur upon successful completion of the probationary period and required training as well as the applicant meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher job class.
