Wilkes University invites applicants for an Events and Engagement Specialist in the office of Events and Engagement. The University Events and Engagement Specialist will serve as a key member of the dynamic Marketing Communications team and will play an integral role in managing event strategies that support the mission and brand of Wilkes University. Working alongside the executive director and director of events and engagement this position will support campus and community events as well as engagement and school spirit efforts managed by the office.
This position will manage operational and logistical elements of events meetings and gatherings including collaboration with campus partners and external vendors; creation of detailed briefing documents signage and schedules; assistance settingup and breakingdown of venues; preparing agreements purchase orders and check requests; and gathering postevent feedback
The office of events and engagement oversees concurrent events on a regular basis and team members must thrive in a fastpaced working environment. The successful candidate will balance creative thinking with attention to detail and display excellent verbal and written communication skills. The individual must be solutionoriented comfortable working with many campus constituents and demonstrate an ability to consistently produce highquality events with the support of team members.
A bachelors degree in business communications or related field is required. The ideal candidate will have 13 years of experience in event management preferably in higher education or a related field. Fluency in Google suite required and experience in Canva and working with a project management system is preferred. Working hours may vary in alignment with scheduled events. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
