Job Title: Machinist Team Member
Department: Tata Steel Tubes
Location: Corby (NN17
Salary: 31982 plus 15 shift allowance rising to 32684 plus 15 on successful completion of probationary period
Shift Pattern: On a 15 shift basis (Monday to Friday)
Closing Date: Wednesday 14th May 2025

This is a great opportunity to join our Engineering Shop at the Corby site where weve already invested over 500000 in new machinery and with plans to invest 1 million more over the next two years theres never been a better time to get involved.
What you will do:
As a Machinist youll play a key role in producing and repairing oneoff and smallbatch components that are essential to our manufacturing operations. Working from engineering drawings and specifications youll machine parts to tight tolerances using lathes milling machines and other workshop tools.
Youll be based in a supportive and safetyconscious team working 8hour shifts Monday to Friday. The role follows a weekly rotating pattern covering days backs and nights.
Youll also be part of the journey as the Engineering Shop relocates to a brandnew workshop on site with further upgrades on the horizon. Its a brilliant chance to work with modern equipment and play a part in shaping a firstclass facility.
What you will need:
To succeed in this role youll need a combination of technical skill attention to detail and a strong commitment to working safely. Were looking for someone with:
- A timeserved apprenticeship or proven competence through experience
- An NVQ Level 3 City & Guilds qualification or equivalent
- Experience operating manual lathes milling machines and general workshop tools
- A valid driving licence
- A good understanding of safe systems of work
It would also be an advantage if you have:
- Experience with CNC machines including setting and programming
- A safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH
We will consider candidates with limited experience provided they show the potential and willingness to develop. In these cases an extended probation period may apply to allow time to build up the required skills.
