Job Description

Position Title:

PartTime Research Assistant

Position Summary and Qualifications:

This Research Assistant position in the Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support will work under the supervision of Dr. McCleery specifically to assist in organizational and planning aspects of several autism research projects. The Kinney Center is involved in conducting several inhouse autism research projects as well as collaborating on research projects with local national and international partners. The Research Assistant will spend approximately 10 to 12 hours per week developing updating and improving individualized program management plans for each of the research projects and tracking and updating monitors of progress. This will include developing and managing online programs (e.g. Qualtrics online experience management software) and supports (e.g. google sheets documents excel files etc. to effectively organize and track the progress of a number of studies. Due to involvement in Human Behavioral Research Studies the Research Assistant will also be expected to complete online training in the ethical conduct and protection of research data and participants (i.e. CITI Program Training).

This Research Assistant position is a 10 to 12 hour per week time commitment from May 1 2025 to September 15 2025. While serving as Research Assistant compensation is contingent upon the continuous acceptable completion of the assigned schedule tasks and duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborating with Dr. McCleery and other study team members to design program management plans and strategies for all research projects in the lab.
  • Taking the lead on planning producing and overseeing technologybased organizational and tracking softwarebased systems and supports for planning tracking and troubleshooting project management for each project.
  • Completing online ethics (CITI Research Training) in order to provide evidence of

knowledge of ethical research and data protection practices.

  • Completing tasks which support research project implementation such as tracking participant progress through research studies number of enrolled participants etc.
  • Communicating effectively (email verbally etc. with all study team members to ensure both awareness and completion of research project tasks.
  • Participating in research team meetings to provide project management updates and to gain the understandings necessary to update project management priorities plans and timelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:(Education/Training and Experience)
Required:

  • Bachelors Degree or excellent undergraduate degree academic progress and standing
  • Documented experience with project management
  • Documented experience with project management software programs

Preferred:

  • Excellent knowledge of autism and its characteristics
  • Psychology Autism Behavioral Studies Education or similar major
  • Previous experience with research project management
  • Up to date Saint Josephs University CITI IRB Training

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:

  • The daybyday work schedule will generally be flexible; however it is critical that the Research Assistant complete tasks in a timely manner so that the research team as a whole can meet critical achievements and deadlines.
  • Will also need to attend and participate in one or more weekly meetings.
